Hey gang!
It's getting close to the end of September! I better hurry up on this PAX West review! :) Sorry it's taken so long to write this up, but we're quickly drawing closer to the Home by Dark Kickstarter! Right now it's looking like a mid-October start!
Okay okay okay... back on track. Sunday was Day 3 of PAX West and we had another couple of awesome sessions!
Our first session was about a well-meaning alien. It took place around a small snowy tourist town in the 90's around Christmas. Jimmy, the baby brother of one of the players who was possessed by a benevolent alien (no no, Jimmy was cool with it!), was being being chased by an evil alien that had possessed the librarian.
It wasn't an easy game, as the librarian kept gaining strength. Ugh. As you can see below, the librarian had a slight edge.
In the end, we were able to save little Jimmy. Unfortunately, the kind alien was lost to the evil alien-possessed librarian. Though we may have lost the kindly alien, everyone had a blast!
The second session of the day was an homage to The Iron Giant. It told the story of a sentient art piece that was hiding from its creator that sought it out to correct it. The story was rather sweet, with a handful of kids and their teacher attempting to protect the super creepy but well-meaning creature from the creator and minions.
There was a siege of the teacher's house (who needed that garage anyway?), a showdown at a junkyard, and some heartwarming scenes in a creepy storm cellar and a terrifying work of art. All in all, it was a great session.
That was one hell of a great Sunday! Early next week I'll go over the last day of PAX West. But for now, I have more Kickstarter prep to do! I'll be talking about that very soon.
Thanks for reading!
